Eastern Herding Dog Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer organization established in 2014 to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome herding breed dogs and high content mixes. Most of these dogs have been brought in to EHDR after being abandoned at a shelter or found as a stray or have been relinquished to EHDR by owners unable to keep them.  All our herding dogs are fostered in EHDR volunteers’ homes (we do not have a shelter facility), and medical needs are addressed promptly and fully, including spay or neuter, vaccines, microchips, etc. They are then eligible to be adopted to carefully chosen homes, where they will be loved, well cared for, and protected.  EHDR also loves staying in touch with adopters throughout the adopted dogs’ life!
